How Frontline Plus Works?

Frontline Plus is the most widely used flea and tick treatment and preventive. The reliable product destroys fleas and ticks within few hours and keeps combating their juvenile life stages for four continuous weeks. Frontline Plus is available for both canines and felines. Frontline Plus for dogs is suitable for all breeds of dogs. The topical spot-on treatment contains fipronil and s-methoprene as the active ingredients. How Frontline Plus works?
Stored within the skin: When applied on the bare skin spot, the active ingredients of Frontline Plus enter the sebaceous glands of the pet’s skin and gets stored within these glands and on the hair follicles. They destroy parasites from these places and are replenished even after the pet gets wet.

Non-systemic mode of action: The treatment destroys parasites through contact and not through the pet’s bloodstream. It thus saves the pet from painful fleabites. Pests are thus killed without causing any pain to the pet.

Attacks nervous system of the parasites: Frontline Plus kills fleas and ticks by causing hyper excitation in their nervous system. The active ingredients block their nerve transmission, paralyze the disoriented fleas and destroy them eventually.

Combined effect of active ingredients: Fipronil is an active ingredient with adulticidal property and kills mature fleas. S-methoprene with larvicidal property destroys juvenile stages of flea life cycle including flea eggs, larvae and pupae. Combined effect of both put an end to the flea population.

Prevents re-infestation:  S-methoprene attacks immature flea life stages to prevent re-infestations of these parasites. It destroys flea eggs, larvae and pupae found on the pet’s body and in the surroundings to combat the growth of flea population.
