We bet that there are things that even you will find quite astonishing and this blog has been written with the objective of disclosing some of the most bizarre facts about your pooch.

But before we get to the facts, it is important to look back at the history of the human - dog relationship. There have been lots of research conducted by scientists and it has been found that it has been no less than 32,000 years since human beings and dogs have been friends. Quite remarkable fact, isn’t it? The most surprising fact is that during the Egyptian era dogs were buried like kings in tombs with valuables. In fact, when a pet died the dog owners would shave off their eyebrows to show their grief of the death of their pet.

Since you have already gone through the history of the relationship between human beings and dogs let us now look at some of the never seen before facts about dogs:

  • A puppy is born blind, deaf and toothless
  • An adult dog has 42 teeth (were you aware of it?)

  • Dogs have sharper night vision, but they can see plenty of colors. But the range of colors that they can see is quite limited. One of the prime example of that is, dogs can see things that are in the shades of yellow and blue, but they do not have see anything in green or red shade
  • It has been found that there are more than 150 breeds of dogs in the world (unbelievable isn’t it?) which have been segregated into 8 different classes encompassing working, toy, and non-sporting, sporting, hound, terrier, herding and miscellaneous.
  • There are certain breeds that are born with pink tongues, but with time they transform into dark color around 8-10 weeks due to additional pigmentation (were you aware of this?)
